As one of the United States’ busiest airports, John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York City sees 31 million travelers annually. To accommodate the volume of visitors, an 8.1-mile-long elevated people mover system and rail link was introduced.
Safety was a top priority for JFK, so Janus emergency track phones and head-end testing software
were also included in the installation. Since the driverless system operates 24/7 and consists of 3 lanes and 10 stations, the staff was concerned about the amount of time it would take to test and monitor each phone. Janus was able to design a custom solution that can test all phones during a quick 1-hour session.
With an efficient monitoring and testing procedure, JFK visitors can quickly arrive at their destination knowing all safety precautions have been taken.
