The Washington Metro Transit Authority (WMATA), located in Washington, DC, had concerns about the time it took to manually test their track side phones. As one of the largest transit authorities in North America, testing of over 2,500 phones took 6 months’ time. This inefficient time frame led WMATA to reach out to Janus for a solution.

The Janus team accepted the challenge and custom engineered both hardware and head-end software to create a complete system. WMATA is now able to monitor and test all 2,500 track side phones in approximately 3 hours. This exponential reduction in both time and labor has created a more efficient testing strategy while ensuring continuous safety for passengers and employees.

In addition to the custom solution, Janus conducted a two-week training programming for the WMATA IT-NCS team. Elizabeth Hollingsworth of WMATA said, "You certainly put your all into making it work for us, thank you so much."
